 The first in a series of 6 CD's which will be released bi-annually. Culled from the movie playlists of the Independent Film Channel by noted music supervisor Alex Steyermark, this is a collection of 11 songs which have a common desire to say something special or different. In short, in the spirit of independent filmmaking, these are tracks which have truly mattered.
Featured artists include Morphine, Tom Waits, The Pogues, Victoria Williams, Medeski, Martin and Wood, and The Reverend Horton Heat. Some of these tracks have never been released including, "Post Mortem" Bar by Zane Campbell, which is the moving end credit track from the seminal AIDS awareness movie, Longtime Companion. Besieged for years for copies of the song, the films producers mailed out cassette dubs, by were ultimately unable to keep up with the demand.
