Born
in Elizabeth Port, New Jersey, Greg Kroll has been making music
since age twelve. As a young teenager, Greg was in an automobile
accident that forced him to spend a lot of time resting at home
listening incessantly to Elvis and James Brown while honing his
guitar skills. By age 14, Kroll was a lead guitarist for a local
band (Heet's On) and by age 16, the William Morris Agency was booking
Kroll's band into local clubs. The band played cover tunes as well
as original Kroll compositions. Kroll's big inspiration came when
he was brought together with Bo Gentry and Richie Cordell. This
would shape the music and lyrics Kroll would produce for years to
come.
Next, Kroll
produced a demo tape, which found its way into the hands of Gary
Burke whose credits included stints with The Joe Jackson Band and
Bob Dylan. Burke called Kroll and not only agreed to drum on Kroll's
first record, but offered to produce it as well. Kroll's lifelong
dream of being a singer/song-writer was now a reality. Greg's debut
album, "Two Sides", (Pmfile Records) teamed him not only
with Gary Burke but with Graham Maby, also of the Joe Jackson Band.
The album garnered him major critical acclaim and Kroll was given
the moniker of "engaging new artist with musical depth, and
unstoppable momentum." Kroll had continued success with his
sophomore release, "Wheels Of Desire," on (Chameleon/Capitol)
which paved the way for more music and his current release of "Living
On Ritalin" (EKG) which once again reunited him with Gary Burke
as co-producer.
Greg Kroll will
be blazing the radio-trail again with his new album "Living
on Ritalin" featuring the smash 60's hit Psychotic Reaction.
This rousing and energetic release features a jazzy mix of mainstream
rock with a smoky atmosphere of lyrics. A listen to the music makes
it apparent this is some of Greg Kroll's most brilliant work to
date and assures that Kroll is an artist we can continue to expect
great things from in the future.
