We don't need to tell you who Pete Krebs is... We don't need to say that he was in Thrillhammer, who had a record produced by Steve Albini (a huge fan), or that he led the pop/punk band Hazel to a position in Northwest music history with two incredible Sub-Pop full length releases, and countless singles, or that he was a driving force in the rebellious bluegrass abandon of Golden Delicious.
What we are here to discuss is Pete Krebs on the solo front. After two critically acclaimed full length solo efforts of Cavity Search, "Brigadier," and "Western Electric," which was produced by Elliot Smith, Pete is back! This time with his new band, The Gossamer Wings.
Pete hand picked this band of noted Northwest musicians to facilitate his best songwriting to date on, "Sweet Ona Rose," a piece dedicated to his unborn daughter.
The Gossamer Wings include, Billy Kennedy (Portland Legend) on guitar, John Moen (Dharma Drums, The Maroons) on drums/keyboards, Paul Brainard (Richmond Fontaine) on pedal steel/trumpet, and Ben Shepard (Soundgarden) on bass. "Sweet Ona Rose," is a distillation of Pete's past musical exploits, as well as it documents the evolution of one of the most talented songwriters on the scene today.
