Formed in Glasgow three years ago, the delgados quickly established themselves at the forefront of the city's flourishing music scene. Since the release of their first single in 1995, the delgados have consolidated their reputation with an acclaimed debut album on March Records and with the remarkable rise of their own record label: Chemikal Underground (Home to Bis, Magoo, and Mogwai to name a few).

The album's reviews coupled with some headline tours helped to establish the delgados as an impressively diverse band. Following tours with The Wedding Present and Pavement, 1997 also saw the band at T in The Park and New York's CMJ Festival at The Mercury Lounge.
The first indication of the delgados new material came with a new PeeI Session the reaction was extraordinary with John Peel hailing them as "the best band in Britain." Those four Peel Session tracks appear on '"Peloton". This album is a marked progression for the delgados with the inclusion of strings, flutes and various samples.
