Bio:

My name is David Wimble. Big Meteor is the name of my band. It is based out of Ottawa, Canada.

The band's first CD "Wild River" has just been released. What I have attempted to do with this album, is to share my experience, strength and hope with anyone who cares to listen. Wild River is music about the spirit - the universal experience that we are all a part of. If nothing else, I hope that you are reminded of this fact at some point during the playing of the CD.

At this time, I am the only remaining member of the band. Recording "Wild River" was an amazing experience, but the eight months of grueling work took its toll, and the other members have moved on to other things. I discovered that when you're a writer, it's hard to find people that have the same passion for the music you play. I hope to someday uncover such people, and eventually build Big Meteor into a four or five piece band. We'll then tour wherever there is interest in the music.

If you are a musician that is interested in the music, please contact me. The potential is there. The reviews of "Wild River" have been for the most part, exceptional.

I have made wonderful contacts all over the world, and look forward to some day meeting them face to face. I've had many offers to visit cities around North America and Europe and play my tunes. What more could a person ask for?

I am currently putting all of my energy into promoting the CD via the Internet. This takes up an incredible amount of time. For now, I'll have to settle for playing at some of the local "open stages" in an attempt to get some exposure. As far as my influences go, it's the good old Beatles and Rolling Stones. Lyrically, I like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Jim Carroll.

I'll leave you with some rich words from another of my heros, William Shakespeare...

"And therefore as a stranger give it welcome. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy"

Peace,
David
